Russia and China are planning to raise the number of exchange students to 100,000 in 2020
At the press conference following the 20th meeting of the Intergovernmental Russian-Chinese Commission for Humanitarian Cooperation, Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova said that Russia and China were close to implementing the task set by the leaders of the two countries - to raise the number of exchange students to 100,000 in 2020. Currently, the number of students enrolled in academic exchange programs is 90,000.
Deputy Prime Minister emphasized the “unique” project of the joint Russian-Chinese university in Shenzhen, co-founded by Lomonosov Moscow State University and Beijing Institute of Technology. The university offers double degree programs in three languages - Russian, Chinese and English. Taking into account admission campaign 2019, the number of Bachelor and Master students studying at this university is 518.
During the meeting, an agreement was reached with Chinese colleagues on the establishment of a working group that would promote programs implemented by the joint university.
