Draft-bill on the functioning of the Kazakhstan branch of Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov reviewed
At an extended meeting of the Committee on Socio-Cultural Development and Science, a draft -bill of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On ratification of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the Russian Federation on the functioning of the Kazakhstan branch of the Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov” was reviewed.
The agreement was signed on November 9, 2017 in the city of Chelyabinsk and establishes the conditions for the functioning of the Kazakhstan branch of Lomonosov Moscow State University.
Adoption of the bill will create a legal basis for meeting the conditions agreed by the Ministries of Education of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Kazakhstan on the establishment and operation of the branch and the commitments made by the Kazakh side in the field of providing conditions for the educational activities of the branch in Kazakhstan.
The branch operates on the base of Gumilyov Eurasian National University, transferred for free use without its withdrawal or transfer to third parties.
The agreement provides the following:
- study programs of the MSU branch: Mathematics, Applied Mathematics and Computer Science, Philology, Ecology and Nature Management, Economics with the obligatory study of the History of Kazakhstan and the Kazakh language;
- education in the branch is carried out in full-time and part-time forms and is conducted in Russian;
- students with state scholarship who graduated from the Kazakhstan branch of the Moscow State University are obliged to work in Kazakhstan;
- the branch is provided with the material and technical base for conducting activities at the expense of the Kazakh side in accordance with the requirements stipulated by the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
