Recognition of the IAAR activities in the international educational space

On June 14, 2019, the Independent Agency for Accreditation and Rating (IAAR) held the closing meeting of the Accreditation Council in the academic year. An important achievement of the IAAR is the expansion of the boundaries of the HEIs’ international accreditation in the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union and abroad. IAAR, being a full member of a number of influential international, European networks and associations (EQAR, ENQA, WFME, INQAAHE, CEENQA, APQN and others), successfully conducts international accreditation of universities and educational programs abroad.

IAAR is the first organization from the CIS countries that received recognition by the World Federation for Medical Education (WFME), which gives the right to conduct international accreditation of medical organizations and educational programs in accordance with international standards. The recognition of the IAAR by the World Federation for Medical Education allows both national and foreign universities to undergo quality assessment according to international standards at the IAAR. The participants of the meeting reviewed the results of the work of independent external expert commissions on international institutional and program (specialized) accreditation of domestic and foreign universities: Nicolae Testemitanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy (Moldova), Tajik State University of Law, Business and Politics (Republic of Tajikistan), “Ala-Too” International University (Kyrgyz Republic). IAAR also conducts joint international accreditation with leading foreign agencies included in the National and European Registries.

The first joint international accreditation in Kazakhstan was conducted by the IAAR and the European agency - ACQUIN in 2017 at the L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University. In May-June IAAR conducted joint international accreditation at the same university with FIBAA (Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation), a long-standing partner of the IAAR. The IAAR international accreditation of foreign universities and joint accreditation procedures with leading international agencies is a great success of the Agency, high authority of the IAAR and recognition of the IAAR activities in the international educational space.
