The EdCrunch conference team has published a full list of foreign speakers

October 1-2, 2018 the World Trade Center Moscow will host the Fifth International Conference on Educational Technologies EdCrunch. This year, the majority of speakers are foreign edtech scene leaders: founders of fast – growing startups, world experts in online learning technologies and educational analytics, as well as leading practical experts in the field of corporate training. The media partners of the conference are Accreditation in Education Company and Higher Education Discovery.

The full list of speakers includes almost 300 visionaries and practical experts actively influencing the agenda of the edtech market and the education market in general. The keynote speakers are Josh Bersin, Founder & Principal at Bersin by Deloitte, Anant Agarwal, CEO at EdX, Jeff Maggioncalda, CEO at Coursera, Anthony Salcito, Vice President at Microsoft, and the leaders of the International Society for Technology in Education, ISTE.

The representatives of the three most significant names among edtech startups will visit Russia for the first time. Age of Learning is one of few «unicorns» in the edtech market, which created learning games for preschool children as well as an integrated system of child development evaluation based on gamification mechanics. The main groundbreaker of the world higher education market, a breakthrough example of “flipped” learning model, is Minerva University, which builds its educational process based on the immersion in the cultural environment interacting with it. The Ecol42 team has set a precedent of drastic education transformation using peer-to-peer pedagogy principles and project-based approach in education.

The speakers also include famous writers, data analysts, active venture capitalists.

The first EdCrunch conference was held in 2014. The project was designed as a multi-format platform integrating educational enthusiasts into the functional community. Some satellite events were organized later. In 2018 the team starts presenting EdCrunch as an ecosystem. At the moment, the EdCrunch conference evangelists are supervising 5 special projects besides the conference.

The Edtech exhibition is organized by the team of event whiz kids from Minsk who brought together 1,500 visitors from Europe and the USA to the tech-conference in Belarus. Currently, EdCrunch Expo surpasses most European edtech exhibitions in the number of exhibitors.

September 18-20, EdCrunch Hackathon / MixHack will take place. The massive IT-contest where cross-functional teams integrating IT, HR and marketing specialists will address challenges for the personnel management market in the context of digital transformation. The final products are prototype HRtech-products.

The leader of one of the largest edtech communities in Facebook, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Valerii Platonov supervises two awards, EdCrunch Award, the contest of massive open online courses with a prize fund of over 4,000 Euros, and the contest of edtech products EdCrunch Award Product.

September 29-30, EdCrunch will hold a two-day intensive constructor for EdCrunch Workshops educational projects. As part of the projects participants will develop their own learning paths, having established a track consisting of  6 workshops. There will be 22 elective workshops presented by foreign and Russian practical experts.

The EdCrunch program is built on two matrices. The first one is structural, by direct analogy with the edu-market. Therefore the program consists of four tracks according to educational levels: preschool education, school education, higher education, corporate learning. The fifth track is dedicated to edtech startups.

The second matrix is systematic. The expert team has derived seven key cross-cutting themes relevant for all five tracks: social learning, online learning, adaptive learning, adaptive and recommendation systems, teacher of the future, skills of the XXI century, game learning, learning analytics.

Thus, all tracks are bound by one agenda, but each one works with it from the perspective of its own tools and characteristics of the audience.

Such approach is targeted at the main aim declared by the project creators from the very beginning, — creation of the professional community integrating change agents in educational technologies into networks and groups. According to the supervisors, this should result in “establishment of particular projects and strong active horizontal ties”.

“By the fifth conference we have definitely managed to strike a balance between the two important tasks, — said Nurlan Kiyasov, mastermind and creator of EdCrunch. — We have to collect the brightest technological educational practices from all over the world and provide particular algorithms and tools for integration of almost any of these practices for our audience. That is why we invited the leaders of all edtech startup rankings, representatives of cult-favorite Arizona State University together with the leading data analysts and specialists in the field of data learning from different companies, not to mention the projects by Yu-kai Chou, leading expert in gamification, and games that were invented by Elizabeth Owen's team and unfixed the notions of game mechanics in educational projects. And we have 300 experts of this kind. At the same time, we selected the cases with the content of the highest level. We should not forget that the modern educational market is a story about the content competition, and the technologies in this market are just a tool for the content delivery to the audience. These tools are extremely important but you should understand what you want to deliver and who you want to deliver it to“.

EdCrunch will take place on October 01-02 at the World Trade Center Moscow. It is organized by National University of Science and Technology MISIS and "20.35" NTI University with support from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation. All employees of any state educational organizations get free admission.
