HEI’s image. The Faculty of Physical Education of the NCFU with its 67 years of experience takes one of the leading positions in Russia in the field of Physical Education and Training. Many graduates have achieved significant results and have become famous sportsmen, teachers and coaches as well as researchers and sports executives. Outstanding sportsmen, champions, prize winners and participants of the Olympic Games graduated from this Department. N.A. Ponomareva, an Olympic champion in discus throwing who has been the first one to win this title in our country is among them.

Programme presentation. The ideas of full realization of the unique educational potential of Physical Education in the educational process of all educational institutions of different types and levels make the basis for students’ training. The study programme provides training of Bachelors in "Athletic Training". The Department has good sport facilities including a field-and-track stadium, a sports and fitness complex and well-equipped gymnasiums. The educational process can be continued in the Master’s and postgraduate programmes. There are also opportunities for qualification improvement and further education.

North-Caucasus Federal University offers two more best educational programs in the field of Humanities:

Teaching staff. The highly qualified teaching staff includes honorary teachers of higher professional education and high achievers in physical culture of the Russian Federation. Over 80% of the teachers have academic degrees of Candidates and Doctors of Sciences. Some teachers are leading specialists and employers in the field of sports in StavropolskyKrai.

Competitiveness of students. During their studies, students obtain generic and professional competences due to which they become highly demanded and competitive specialists in the labour market. Prospective specialists take an active part in professional contests and competitions of different levels demonstrating great achievements. Among the students, there are prize winners in European, National and World Championships in karate, handball, basketball, swimming, cross bow shooting, acrobatics, judo and other kinds of sports.

Interaction with employers. Leading specialists of the field and employers of the region take an active part in the development of this educational programme. They are E.V. Zotin, the President of Handball Federation of Stavropolsky Krai, Director General of NGO NCP “Stavropolje Handball Club”, A.B. Smirnov, Director of SBISC “Interdepartmental Centre of Sport Training”, and others.
