Programme presentation. Upon completion of the Programme, students should know how to work with written, oral and virtual types of texts (including hypertexts and text elements of multimedia objects), apply knowledge and skills and carry out different types of oral and written communication. They will also have knowledge of the Russian and foreign (European and Slavic) languages and literature.

The Faculty has 8 research laboratories (dialectological, folk, laboratories of legal linguistics and document science, written Russian language, linguistic identity development, cognitive linguistics and conceptual study, speech communication, laboratory of research into the Russian literature and orthodox culture), and its own Academic television centre.

There are Master’s programmes in “Legal and Document Linguistics”, “Speech Communication Technologies” and “Russian literature”.

Teaching staff. Among teachers are 13 Doctors and 48 Candidates of Sciences, an acting member of the IAS and 3 corresponding members of the SAS. In 2013-2014 professors from the M. Gorky Literature Institute, the RSUH (Moscow), the University of Zagreb (Croatia), the Institute of the Russian Philology of the J. Kochanovski University of Humanities and Natural Sciences (Poland), the University of Nis (Serbia) gave lectures for the students.

Competitiveness of students. The students place high in annual national and international Olympiads in Russian, Linguistics and Literary Studies, participate in all-Russian and international conferences (Moscow, Novosibirsk, Tomsk) and in research projects. Best students become scholars.

Students from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, China and Mongolia study at the Faculty. Students from the InstitutLibre Marie Haps, the Lessius Higher School of Translators (Belgium), the Communication University of China, the University of Szczecin and the Pan-EuropeanUniversity "APEIRON" have been on exchange programmes at the Faculty. The students of the Faculty participated in similar programmes in Serbia, Poland and China.

Interaction with employers. Among employers of the Faculty are the Department of Education and Science of the Kemerovo region, the “Prime Time” Media Group, the Siberian Association of Linguists-Experts”, “Juridical Linguistics”, the Federation of Trade Union Organization of Kuzbas, LLC “Rosgosstrakh” and others.
