Programme presentation. Within the framework of the specialty “Graphic Art” the Ural State Academy of Architecture and Arts trains specialists in animation and computer graphics. Duration of training is 6 years. The programme includes lecture courses, seminars, course projects, which include interactive projects, active practical classes, and master-classes of the leading specialists of the field.

Teaching staff. Training is performed by highly qualified specialists: laureates of the State prize, the prize of the government of the Russian Federation, members of the film-makers’ union of the Russian Federation, the Painters’ Union of the Russian Federation, the Designers’ Union of the Russian Federation, laureates and award winners of international and national competitions, festivals and expos.

Competitiveness of students. The highest quality of training is proved by numerous awards of prestigious national and international festivals and competitions of animation. The Institute’s students won such prizes as: Grand Prix of the international competition of short films in Abu Dhabi “Black Perl” (United Arab Emirates), the first prize of the International festival of animated films in Annecy (France), the first prize of the International festival of animated films “KROK” (Russia), the prize of the International festival of animated films “Golden Kuker” (Bulgaria), the jury’s diploma of the XI International animation festival “Tidirindis-2013” (Lithuania), the prize of the Open Russian Festival of animated films (Suzdal), prizes of International workshop festival of cinema schools “Kinoproba” (Yekaterinburg), the Governor’s of Sverdlovsk region award.

Interaction with employers. Students and graduates of the Department actively co-operate with specialized companies: LLC “February 29”, LLC “Studio “A-film”. The major department founded the studio “Ptaha”, where students improve their professional skills in the course of developing animation films.
