Programme presentation. Within the framework of the specialty “Monumental Decorative Art” the Ural State Academy of Architecture and Arts trains specialists in “Interior Artist and Designer”, “Artist of Monumental Decorative Art (painting)”, “Artist of Monumental Decorative Art (sculpture)”. The duration of training is 6 years. The programme includes lecturing courses, seminars, course projects, which include interactive projects, active practical classes, master-classes of the leading specialists of the industry.

Teaching staff. The Institute’s teaching staff consists of highly qualified teachers: honoured painters of the Russian Federation, members of the Architects’ Union of the Russian Federation, the Painters’ Union of the Russian Federation, the Designers’ Union of the Russian Federation, laureates and award winners of international and national competitions, festivals and expos, practicing painters, designers and architects.

Competitiveness of students. The highest quality of training is proved by numerous awards of prestigious national and international festivals and competitions. One of the students’ prizes is grand-prix of the competition “Design project of the cup for awarding the best player of the Czech Republic football championship 2014”. The works of students and graduates decorate many cities of Russia: the monument to V. Vysotsky and M. Vlady, the monument to inventor E. Artamonov (Yekaterinburg), the monument “Miner’s Glory” (Berezovsky), the mosaic of the Church of Blessed Sergius of Radonezh (Yugorsk),the mosaic of the Church of the Birth of the Blessed Virgin (Hotkovo, Kaluga region), the mosaic of the Holy Doors of Tobolsk Kremlin (Tobolsk), the mosaic of the Church of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God (village Krasnoobsk, Novosibirsk region).

Interaction with employers. The major department actively cooperates with specialized organizations and enterprises (LLC “Diptych”, LLC “Ampir”, Sverdlovsk Regional Office of National Creative Non-governmentalOrganization Painters’ Union of the Russian Federation), whose representatives are involved in the academic process as counsellors of term projects and thesis research, organizers of working practice.
