Programme presentation. Training Design Bachelor-degree students, in the first place, provides for practice-oriented approach, which in the best way ensures training of the competitive specialist possessing all the required skills in artistic and technical activity.

Currently two majors are offered within the main educational programme: Graphic Design and Design of the Environment. Both majors are promising fields for establishing the new or reorganizing the existing cultural and environmental landscape of Kaliningrad and its regions.

Once established, workshops and laboratories have been modified. The photo laboratory, the print and design workshops, the computer class are equipped with the latest de-vices. It is planned to purchase equipment for the printing workshop for working practice and further graduates’ placement. The study rooms of the University are equipped with interactive screens and multimedia computer projectors.

Teaching staff. The leading artists, draughtsmen, designers, printing professionals, graphic designers and architects of Kaliningrad Region teach at the Institute. Every teacher is experienced in teaching the discipline and in his/her professional creative activity. We are proud of RF Honoured Artist B.K. Mironov’s and Russia’s People’s Artist G.A. Elfimov’s involvement in teaching.

Competitiveness of students. The important component of the academic process is students’ participation in contests, exhibitions and creative projects. For instance, the Art-Session international exhibition in cooperation with Kaliningrad art gallery and Design Plus interregional exhibition-contest in cooperation with Kaliningrad regional branch of Association of Russia’s Designers have already become the annual tradition.

Interaction with employers. The academic process involves practicing professionals who are contributing their creative and technological potential to the development of the designer products.
